How can I use one color of a BMP file as transparent? I'm going to use a RES file to store the BMPs.

You can load the BMP into an imagelist, specifying the color you want to be transparent then call the extract icon function:

Declare Function ImageList_GetIcon Lib "COMCTL32" (ByVal hIml As Long, ByVal i As Long, ByVal flags As Long) As Long 'returns hIcon

Then save the icon. that's the easiest way I can think of.
