Obviously I should know both VB & VC++, but which is more in demand in the job market today? I am a CS (Computer Science) student and would like to specialize in one of the above.
I'm simply looking to be more marketable.
Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you,
Marc

Learn both. The more you know, the better a computer programmer you'll be, and more marketable as well.
Specialising is a mistake, especially so early in your career. The industry and employment market changes so quickly these days, you have to be able to learn new things and change directions all the time. If you know more about the fundamentals of being a good programmer (i.e. modular programming, object-oriented design, working to a spec, skillful debugging, etc. etc.) and less about vendor-specific stuff (e.g. MFC, Visual C, VB), you'll be much more able to respond to a changing work environment.

If you've a CS, try to be an expert in C/C++, Win32 API. So VC is a good platform to start writing professional software, which needs to be small and efficient.

Hi.
That I should know both VB & VC++ makes no sense in the actual commercial level programming.
Commercial level program is so hard than the school student thinks.
So, first, which the language is comfy for you, VB or VC++?
When you check the website like www.computerjobs.com, you will find VB demand is more than one of VC++.
As for me, I prefer VC++ in part because we can make the application by Java as long as we keep in touch of VC like OO.
Totally, I think that the programmer need some kind of "marketing sense" now. Application programmer must need web application
language like VC - ASP and so on mainly because the software company needs this kind of people now.
Good luck.
