Why always 100% CPU Usage?

I am working on Windows 2000.I dont know why but suddenly my CPU usage is always 100% and most of the time by NTPRIME.exe.It is making my other applications run slow.Does any one know about this?

Did U install a new software lately ?

check out programs in Startup...
R U Running some Anti-Virus ? - Try to turn it off,
R U doing some programming ? - if U have a "bad" program that may enter a Loop - U may get this 2...
