Need Help on VS FlexGrid Pro 7.0

I am using VS FlexGrid Pro 7.0, I need to put a limit on the number of characters that can be entered in a given cell, can anyone tell me how can I do that.
Secondly I need to validate the cell value before the user enters value in the next cell, in which event procedure can I perform this validation. Is there a property that can specify the datatype of the value the cell should except.

Is this a third party Control? I'm am having a simalar difficulty finding a useful data grid that will allow me to enter, valadate and edit data. I was actually looking for something that had the feel of an excel sheet.
