How can I get the Ethernet Adress of my network card on a Linux machine?

Do you mean the IP address (4 numbers) or the MAC (6 numbers) address. The IP address tends to vary, the MAC address is fixed.

ifconfig

On Windows NT/2K/XP

On Windows 9x/ME
