Crystal Report is not refreshing for another server

hi
i am using this connetion,
"cr.Connect = "ODBC;Driver={SQL Server};UID=user;PWD=pwd;DSQ=datatabase;Data Source=server"
but when ever i changed the server datasource from the vb app, it gives me "Database error:
general SQL Server error,check messages from the sql server". both servers have the same database
please help me it's urgent
