How do I chat between 2 PCs using phone line?

I would like to build a chat program with VB for text chat between 2 PCs through phone line. What stuff do I need to do this?

The WinSock Control.
Go to Project | Components and add the WinSock control.
See the MSDN for more information. "Using the WinSock Control" is an especially good article for beginners on the WInSock control.

You mean that I can still use Winsock to chat between 2 PCs through direct dial? I'm not using the internet.
