Forgive me if this goes against the FAQs and I hope this message is in the correct place. Basically I have a client requirement to produce a macro/script/not sure what to insert a menu button in the toolbar into Outloook (Windows only). This button would then link to a website promoting the use of a particular service.

We would of course make people aware of what they are doing, rather in the same way that PGP does.

Firstly I need to know wether this is doable, and also I would like to try and get some idea of cost. I do not want to start any sort of bidding war, and so if people want to mail me off list that will be OK. (but just the once please).

We are based in South East England, although I don't really see distance as too much of a problem on this.

Best regards

Hi,

To answer your question, it is absolutely doable, only if your Outlook version is 2000 and above. With previous version of Outlook, you could create toolbar buttons but they would be lost as soon as Outlook was closed.

It is possible to create buttons and associate images to the button and point them to anything, a file on the local system or a link to a page.

If you need any help with Outlook/Exchange/MAPI/DAPI or LDAP programming, I can assist you. I have been working on these applications for the past 3 1/2 years and know them in and out.

Let me know. My e-mail is nilaish@hotmail.com

Thanks,
Hoping to hear from you soon
