Bethesda, MD, September 4, 2002 - ContentGuard, Inc., the leading provider of Digital Rights Language (DRL) technology, and Integrated Management Concepts (IMC), a provider of cost and earned value management software for the enterprise, today announced that IMC has licensed patented Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies from ContentGuard. IMC also announced that it is using eXtensible rights Markup Language (XrML), the leading DRL, to deploy license-based security and access rights policies within its new Microfusion Millennium product.

"Using XrML we've been able to develop product features that give us a huge competitive advantage in the enterprise market," said Mark Tillema, IMC CEO. "Our customers are now able to use advanced rights management features to
monitor and manage the access and use of complex and sensitive financial or competitive information. Moving forward, we also plan to use XrML in our Web Services initiatives."

"IMC's DRM-enabled product is a fundamental example of how enterprise organizations will evolve from merely protecting information to better managing high-value information," said Michael Miron, ContentGuard CEO. "IMC's use of XrML is testimony to how a DRL can empower developers to
quickly deploy DRM functionality while enabling interoperability between systems that manage content and services."
Microfusion Millennium version 5, available now, is a Windows-based, enterprise scale, cost management software suite that provides pricing, performance measurement, resource planning and cash flow projections to help enterprise organizations manage large-scale projects. This new version of
the product has been engineered to include DRM functionality, based entirely on XrML, integrated into the application. In addition, the product is now scaleable and has replaced proprietary technologies with open standards,
including: XML metadata, SOAP and web services protocols, X.509 certificate credentials, SVG graphical presentation, and XrML digital rights, to provide customers with easy integration.
About XrML XrML, the language for digital rights management, provides a universal method for specifying rights and conditions associated with the use and protection of digital content and services. Originally developed at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), the specification facilitates the creation
of an open architecture for rights management of digital content or services. It can be integrated with both existing and new DRM systems. XrML is a general-purpose rights language, agnostic to the type of resource, platform, media or business applications. The latest release, XrML 2.0, expands the capabilities of a Digital Rights Language to enable developers to establish the rights and conditions needed to access Web Services in addition to discrete digital content. It also contains additional capabilities in the areas of extensibility, security and life cycle management. XrML has been selected as the basis for the Moving Picture Expert's Group (MPEG) Rights Expression Language, and has been contributed to the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Systems (OASIS) for continued enhancement by the OASIS Rights Language Technical
Committee. For more information about XrML please visit
