Hi,

I use PDWizard to generate setup package for my VB Application. However I have the following problem. When I try to deploy it on Windows 98 machine the setup.exe loops through all files (not only through bootstrap section) and then ask to restart computer. After restart it begin to loop again through all files and so on. ACtually it never starts setup1.exe.

Anyone ever had similar experience?

May you run pd-wizard on a machine with win98?
If it is already so, you sure they are same (yours and the one of client) edition (hope second!)?
If so, you sure they are of same language?
If so, if your program require Ado, try installing Mdac_Type.exe first on client machine and after run your setup.
One more thing which seems silly but it is not: check for viruses on both your and client machine.
Hope this may help,
Cesare.

Special thanks to Lothar "the Great" Haensler, Tom Archer, Chris Eastwood, Bruno Paris and all the other wonderful people who made and make Codeguru a great place. Come back soon, you Gurus.

Hi,

Thank you very much about your reply.

Actually I found the solution of my problem and I want to share it. After much research in internet I found the readme.txt of Microsoft Visual Studio SP5 ( I didn't know they have such). There in the list of fixed bugs I saw exactly mine problem. Right now I am downloading SP5 and I hope they have really fixed it.

Sincerely
