If you want free, you are most likely going to get stuck with ads.
When I taught an e-commerce class at the local university this past fall, I suggested that the students use brinkster for a free site. I believe you are still going to get a few ads, plus there is a limit on bandwidth; however, they support ASP, an access database, and even some .NET.

Hi there Jewe! In case u're still interested, u can visit http://www.hostonce.com or http://www.ivaluehost.net
They've everything from web-based e-mails to graphical site statistics. Their servers are fast and reliable too. Plus there's no ads. And............their costs are simply the best : all these great stuff at just below US$6 per month. U'll be shocked. :D
Anyway, hmmm........I'm quite suprised Brad actually knows e-Commerce. :)
This subject must be really interesting, eh?
I think in some ways, it's even more interesting than any kinda programming.
