viewing excel in html

i've created an excel spreadsheet with a macro to automatically launch when the spreadsheet is referenced using the auto_open feature. the macro extracts data from a access database and plots a pivot chart & table in worksheet.

this works fine when i manually trigger the excel file. however when i created a hyperlink in html to reference the file, it fails to show in the web browser. why is this so? please help.
