Server-client

Hi,

I am trying to write a VB app which will run over a LAN. This app will need to transfer files over the network, and also allow connections from server to client and client and clients.

I will need a main server, which will be able to scan for and add clients, and then control them. i.e. send/retrieve data etc. I have no idea how to get the server to find available clients to add.

I don't have a lot of experience of this type of programming. If anyone could offer any tips, examples or if anyone knows of existing code that will do the job, I will be very grateful.
