Hi!

Iīm writing this windowsApplication. My problem is that donīt understand have to make it fitt to different resolutions. In Java I use layoutManagers but in C# I really donīt know. What I do know is that there are no such things as laymanagers in C#. Are you supposed to use Dock and Anchor? If so, how do you use it? I would be must thankful if someone could point me to on an article explaing this isue.

you can use dockpadding properties and docking properties to make your layout adaptive to your screen resolution. This method of making a layout works fine for me. Also try to use panels for controls that don't need to resize when your window is bigger or smaller.

Good luck

I've used a layout manager provided by ActiveWare with great success. You may want to check it out at www.activewaresolutions.com.

FYI , it effects on Cost of the product ! right. we can design our programs to encorporate all that stuffs.

Hi Paresh,

I'm not sure what you mean by "it effects on cost of the product" but I did want to respond to your comment "we can design our programs to incorporate all that stuff".

Sure, I agree, anyone can write a program to incorporate "all that stuff". If somebody wrote the tool, somebody else could certainly write code to do the same thing.

I actually set out to write my own layout manager and quickly realized that in order to get all the functionality I wanted, it was a bigger task than I was interested in taking on. I was much happier spending the money to buy a solution that already did what I needed and so I did.

I'm sure there will be other times when I set out to write my own classes or controls. In fact, I'll probably hit some obstacles and post questions to message boards. And I hope that when I do, great people, such as yourself, will be willing to give me any information they have on the topic such as SW knowledge to try and help me out as well as product knowledge of other tools out there that may help me out. I like to carefully consider all of my options.

Best Regards,
