Errow with startupapi.dll file

After I installed internet explorer 6.0 and started the installation, I began to extract files from the installation disk. After extracting I believe that it starts to copy files. In this process it stops and says their is an error with the startupapi.dll file. What do I need to do to fix this problem and finish installation?

Try microsoft.public.vsnet.setup. I know one suggestion there was to disable anti-virus and zonealarm during setup if you have them running.
