Cloning has been a hot issue lately in the news. The first baby has been cloned (or so they want us to believe). Setting aside the pro's and the cons of cloning, let's assume we were to clone people. Who of all people would you NOT clone. You can select more than one option if you find it to hard to choose.

I know I can't add all people to the list, but if you really think one should be added, just ask (read note below).

Oh, I left Xeon out of the list on purpose, since he would probably win the poll unanymous, and be proud of it too. No, I'm not adding him, so don't bother asking.

Are the teletubbies clonable? Anyway, I think this thread is a bit inane and rude for a conversation. Why not ask "is it unethical to clone?" Or "what are your thoughts on cloning?"

Cakkie
January 8th, 2003, 01:36 AM
I agree that this thread is a bit insane, but I don't think it is rude. This is just for fun. Check the internet and you will find a zillion games where the victim is a celebrety (dancing bush, kill osama, yasser vs ariel 3d boxing, shoot the tubbies, save the twintowers). I think those are actually going much further than this "inocent" poll, knowing that the reason these games were written we probably more out of amusement rather than actually atacking a person.

About starting a thread asking if cloning is unethical. This wouldn't be a bad idea, and I can tell you I have toyed with the idea of posting that one instead of this one, but because I occasionally prefer a little insanity over a very heavy discussion (since that is what it would turn out to be eventually), I opted for this one.

I can't believe there are people who did not vote for all of these freaking idiots. They're all a walking disaster. Anyway, you should have added an option 'Me'. I'm also a terrible disaster. :D No seriously, a lot of people also do not want themselves cloned.

Simon666

What surprises me most is that Michael Jackson is currently no. 1 with 5 votes. Maybe because people think he is the one in the list most likely to try doing it?

Elrond
January 8th, 2003, 04:07 AM
Finally I voted for the people I found to be the more harmful at the moment (basically, the political leaders).

I just realised after clicking the button vote that I could have omitted Bush. Not that he is not as harmful as the others, it's just that he has been very lucky because of his family to become president, but he is basically to dumb to be harmful in most other situations.

The other are more dangerous, being at the same time harmful and smart.

I didn't vote for M. Jackson because it would be funny to see him black again ;)

Hm.. If someone should clone himself, is he will get
such human individ like himself or clone will be only physical copy of him. If second, it is not so terrible.
If fisrt, I voted for Hitler, like for one of the most terrible human in the history. Nevertheless I agree with Simon, that some part of people above are dictators, idiots and e.t.

N'Sync is a boysband of five boys making annoying music for young teenage gurls. One of them wants to be shot into space out of free will. Hopefully this implies trying to blast the others too in space would not prove too hard. :D

Simon the boyband expert! Will answer any question! Cannot be stumped!

Well, in the US, N*Sync and Backstreet Boys are the two groups that men always confuse (I would have no clue which is which, and thats a good thing). But it is also said that there are 29834962356 lookalikes, 98 degrees among them. So basically we are both right. See, I couldn't stump Simon the boyband expert.

I can field that question. Mr. Bush is an alias for an unknown undercover anarchist hiding somewhere withing our country's borders. The government has been on this case for nearly two years now. They are unable to discover Mr. Bush's true identity, or even his exact whereabouts. What they do know is that he is encouraging the spread of anti-democratic ideas which will culminate in a revolution. The government does not know how much time is left. Mr. Bush has already begun to amass a militia of thousands of troops. If he strikes before we catch him we will all be dead... wait just a sec... ok... this just in: Mr. Bush is great! We should all join him in his anarchist ways! Long live the revolution!

U poor li'l baby! It's actually called N' Sync, not N' Sychn.
N' Sync is a network management tool which comprises of document synchronisation features and offline document reading tools etc, among others. The latest version, code-name 'Maximum Sync', also has universal remote desktop control, which means that you can control your PC(even if it's a standalone client) from another planet in Proxima Centuar or Alpha Centuari.

The darn thing costs US$5000, though....so it's mainly for big companies. N' Sync was created about 4 years ago by 4 programmers, and one of them is Justin Timberlake, if I'm right. He also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears.

And in case you dunno who Britney is, she's a female programmer specialising in Visual C++ ATL COM and mainly .net programming.
I heard she created the COM components for these 4 male programmers, though.

N' Sync was created about 4 years ago by 4 programmers, and one of them is Justin Timberlake, if I'm right. He also happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears.

Actually there were 5 programmers. They would program in a big place which seated tens of thousands of people and charge admission. Apparently they programmed by singing together. Although they never were able to fully debug their programs, which is why it all just sounded awful. I think they called this a "concert".

Sure, my new avatar is the coolest , I'm still wondering who sent it to me? :D

Hmmm.....I dunno, Irona. But I'm pretty sure that since he could resize the avatar and preserve the original look and quality and coolness, he must be a real darn handsome, cute, magnificient, grand, noble, calm, cool, awesome, sensitive, sweet, charming, romantic, sentimental, good-looking, helpful, kind, understanding and wonderful sortta guy. He must be!:D

No! The background(sunset) gives me a sense of freedom and stress-free life, while the green ball reminds me of a fantasy planet...ohhhh.......

Yes, true true. But programming is a serious activity and these guys are treating it like music when it's not. That's why one of my pals who purchased N' Sync says that their software crashes 88% of the time. Kinda sad, though.

I say Symantec's Act! is better that these fools. :D:):):)

The picture is of the sun's corona in false color, sorry to burst your bubble. Besides, my home planet would not be that ugly.

PEOPLE!
Are you mad?!!!
How can you not vote for the telletubbies?
Don't you know what they are?!
They are a secret government project for producing more energy through just sucking it out from the poor people who watch the tv show. I watched it once... No doubt it was dumb... but the moment I looked at the screen i fell on the ground not able to turn my eyes. I dropped the remote control ant couldn't change the channel and was exposed to this mentally degenerating program for 1 hour (isnt it obvious)... I never want to watch it again...
So don't think that your kids like watching it... they just cannot do anything about it. So your government earns from you and your children. Don't clone the Teletubbies... Take them off air!

THIS IS NOT A JOKE

actally it is but never mind

This is probably a secret government code. So your story checks out after all. :D

I can just see Simon inching for that 2000th post. The strain is clear. He is struggling for it. It's like giving birth: you anticipate the product greatly, the process seems like it takes forever, and then at last you've got it.

Strange. Didn't notice it yet. Nah, I'm probably going to waste it on something stupid. This does mean however that I forgot to do something special at post 1998 = 666*3. :( I'll maybe make an edit somewhere, I'll see.

You gotta admit, though, it (http://www.codeguru.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=662258#post662258) was a pretty boring (666*3)th post.

You deleted a post just so you could make that post above all fancy looking and all. That's pretty interesting.

No, I mean that you made that celebration for your 1998th post when it clearly wasn't the 1998th post... although congratulations now on your new title. (I think I'll be stuck as Member + for the rest of eternity, but I don't mind)
