Vis c++ and xp home?

hello,I just bought Vis c++.net online to check it out,will it run on xp home or do i need to get pro? love the site.

It'll work on home, but Pro is a much better OS. Home has everything that makes it nt disalbed :)

This is not true. Home XP is a full blown 32-bit Windows based on the exactly same architecture as the XP Pro.

THe differences for many users are not critical, such as advanced networking. See the diffs in MS site.

I have XP at home running VC++ .net and have no problems with it. In fact, since I'm not running a Domain at home I like the memory fact that home's memory overhead is much less than Pro.

memory overhead of Pro vs Home may not exceed the memory used by system services (few MBs), since kernel and all underneath components are the same as pro.ç

Apart from this, good luck with your VC.NET development. I ve not tried it verymuch, im still sticking with VC++ 6, but I will port some of my apps to VC7 next days (im starting to study for my finals, and my time for programming is reducing quickly :mad: )

thanks for the responses,I ended up using videostudio.net and it loaded on xp home with no problems.C++.net apps run great.its for learning so the advanced features are not in issue yet...
