I`m think of starting api programing with VB and have loked at the book

Dan Appleman's "Visual Basic Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API" is it a good book to start with or should I wait for some newer books to come out who will adress Xp´s new classes and win64 or mayby you could recomend some other vb api books.

I did not enjoied Dan book (someone else may have found it useful). Let me suggest you to have a look at help of visual studio (you will find information in Summary->Platform sdk->Win32Api) and to api-guide( a free tool you can download at www.allapi.net)

Special thanks to Lothar "the Great" Haensler, Tom Archer, Chris Eastwood, TCartwright, Bruno Paris, Dr_Micahel
and all the other wonderful people who made and make Codeguru a great place.
Come back soon, you Gurus.
