Deletion of file from folder permanantly

hi,

I want to delete a file from a folder using an api, i already used an api called delete file which is deleting the file , but sometimes it is not actually deleting the file(means if i use dir function it is finding the file), i can see the same file after calling the above api in windows explorer, but if i refresh the windows explorer it is removing from the explorer,
I want to remove the file from the specified folder permenantly programmatically, can u pl.find out the way to delete it or refreshing the windows explorer contents programmatically.

Ever though of the Kill statement. This deletes the file, and if you do dir, the file is gone.

this means file is gone, it is only a matter of refreshing explorer...
