Checking drive

My question is three.

1.Can I check whether diskette is inserted in A: drive or not in my program?
2.Can I chect whether CD-ROM is inserted in cdrom drive or not in my program?
3.How can I detect CD is CD-R or rewritable-CD in my program?

Could anyone who know it let me know the way?
