Unwanted IE toolbar dropin

Somehow, a website I visited dropped a new toolbar into IE without asking me. It's not that I don't mind gambling and sex all that much, it's just I don't like the toolbar there :)

I searched the registry and found 6 entries with the name, but am unsure about removing them, and Norton didn't pick it up as a downloaded internet program, so it can't seem to remove it.

So, how does one go about removing said toolbar from IE's list of toolbars?

I unfortunately am more than 20 years older than 18, but I'm not telling exactly :)

The toolbar always seems to point to LOP.com, or some affiliate of it. I used Spy Sweeper, which found it and got rid of it, but it somehow keeps coming back - it's obviously part of the Axis of Evil...

The machine's not used by kids, but it annoys the **** out me, and keeps changing my home page :mad:

I use lavasoft's AdAware, their latest version can remove the
**** crap.

The first is a spybot detection much like AdAware. The latter 2 detect stuff that hijacks your browser.

Actually, I was checking a few hacker sites to find out how much money I lost on software sales - if one figured a 10% buy rate, I lost over $24,000 in the last two weeks alone from the cracker folks :mad:

Hmmm, what sites ? Do you know who cracked it, with what ??

Here is a site that has good number of crackers, anti crackers
etc, maybe some info for you hear to check you're protection,
download and check em out ?

Not yet online stuff. When I'm done with this current crap I'll have

Nah, can't say I make that much...yet :)

I've been selling the same software for a couple of years, but I just released a new version, and it has taken off pretty well - the problem being is they hacked it, and it's spread.fairly quick.

The Russian, Australian and Chinese sites are the worst offenders, with thousands of downloads per day, and the crack links right next to the download links.

Makes ya wonder whether it's worth spending the time to write software anymore... You have to spend so much time and effort trying to defeat the hackers, that it ends up costing you more than you make :(

Well, if someone hacks and provides cracks and pirated versions of your software....it means that you gotta feel proud in a way, cos' your software has been noticed and you gotta feel modest and important.

I'm not saying that piracy is good, but there's no logical way to eliminate piracy. The encryption techniques and stuff can be created by God, but....I dare say that even encrpytion tactics, no matter how secure it is a 1000 years from now....it's never gonna beat piracy totally....unless you fix a device into each and every single human when they're borned and using that device, you monitor their every action to see if they're using or cracking pirated software....but this kinda tactic, which seems the only viable approach...is impossible to implement, in both financial and human rights aspects.
The morale of this story is : a software-based anti-piracy solution that really works for everyone is hard to find. Impossible. :cool:

Anyway, as long as you make lots of money, it doesn't really matter about piracy, since there's nothing much you can do about them anyway.
A self-improvement author has said before : if you have a problem that you know you can't solve, then thinking about it will be useless. You would be better off doing other productive tasks instead, like thinking of new ways to gain new customers or improve your existing customers' loyalty and such.
