Light LED via parallel port!!

hello everyone..

i'm trying to make a program that would light a LED..
following are the tools i have..

1. Parallel Port Cable
2. Bread/Project board
3. LED

now the problem is that i knew these are the things i need but i don't now the code used to light the LED..

a link or any kind of help is appreciated.. i would love to read and learn..
