Well, everywhere you go you see companies looking for ASP, PhP or JAVA programmers but only a pity few for MS.net. There is even one interviewer who proclaimed that .NET is meaningless & recommend going into JAVA or WIN32/ WIN64(is there a WIN64?).

So is it too early to jump into .NET?

No - but at the moment the market is quite small because not many people have got .NET projects into production. As this happens there will be a market for developers to do support and maintenance on these so the market will grow very rapidly.

Well, maybe. It has alot to do with the fact that the IT business is kind of stalling at the moment too. I mean, since business is slow, customers don't want to risk anything, and since .NET is still fairly new..... you get the picture.

However, there is NO, I reapeat, NO doubt in my mind that .NET is the future. Sure, Java will still be around and probably be .NET's main rival, but as programmers discover the greatness of .NET and how much time one saves using it, the customers will understand too (shorter dev time --> customer happy).
