what tool should i use for database applications? i heard PowerBuilder's database abstraction is very "natural"... appreciate any feedback. thanks.

VB has mega-power and you can handle any event you want with it.

I have used both VB and PB and must admit that although I'm far more comfortable with VB (much more experienced that is ;), PB is more OO than VB and yes, it's database abstraction is much more intuitive. I say this even though I have only been involved in one PB project a number of years back.
I don't think you're going to get very objective advice in this forum. Try doing some searches with both tools as keywords.
