Binary objects from Access Memo field to File?

I am looking for a way to extract images (bmp) from an Access 97 table and save them as a file. I followed an example from MSDN using Getchunk and "Open File as Binary" to write the file, but the resulting file is not recognized as a valid BMP. Anyone have any suggestions?
