I am trying to create an exe in VB that enables me to change the normal.dot menu bar by adding various items. I know I have to use a reference to the Word object library but I am now stuck as to how to do this from VB. I do not wish to do this from VBA within word. Can anybody recomend any books on this subject or even point me in the right direction?

I've never done it but think you'll have to use the GetMenu, GetMenuItemID, GetSubMenu, and ModifyMenu APIs.
