How to Open an COM Port and Verify the Presence

Hi,

How to open a COM Port programatically.. How to ensure whether the COM Port is valid or not..

I was trying to open the port using the Open Statment in VB .. It is like this

Open "COM1" for input as #1

Please let me know.. Any other solution for this..

Try using MSComm Control that comes with VB...
