Help File Development

I'm currently learning VB, but am having trouble with developing Help Files.
Can someone summarise the major points of how to develop and code a simple help file.

one way i know is to use help authouring software like VisualPro which u can download a trail version free from www.winwareinc.com..it also gives a help file to use it
it is simple to use
