unknown db-format???

i have made an application in vb6.0 that is working on an access97 database, now , how can i make it work on
access2000 database? the "connect"-property on the data control i set to "access", but when i run the program i get the error-msg "unknown database format"...

There are tons of messages regarding incompatibility of DC with Access 2000 starting since April. It doesn't work.
