Java certainly has a growing job market. You should research the job market in

the area you live and decide whether things are attractive for Java programmers.

One of the problem always has been to get entry into a new technology. If you

can't manage to get some experience before you try for your first Java job, it

might be difficult to get it without the experience.

One workaround for the no experience problem is to make some of you Java work

accessible over the internet. Make sure it is good quality and demonstrates

your skills.
