Custom search toolbar generator???

I found this news story on a custom search toolbar generator called
EffectiveBrand (http://www.effectivebrand.com/) and have always wanted to build a search toolbar
for my site. Has anyone tried EB or tried building a search powered toolbar?

What recommendations would you have for generating downloads?
If my site does not have search, what kind of site searches can I add to it?

I thought I might brainstorm for a minute on how to generate downloads. Try using any or all of the following ideas:

1. use banner ads to promote the toolbar
2. advertise in ezines
3. write an article about the value of downloading your toolbar and distribute it
4. run a promotion where every 100th person to download the toolbar gets something (depending on what your site offers)
5. place an invitiation clearly but neatly on your home page, making sure to explain the benefits of having such a toolbar to your visitors
6. offer it for download on download sites or "cool tool" sites
7. advertise it in newsletters

That's all that comes to mind at the moment.

I think I'll check out EffectiveBrand's search toolbar. If anyone is using it already, I would like to hear opinions and more ideas on what can be done to generate traffic by using it.
