WRITING A SHELL COMMAND TO A FILE

Why won't this work in vb?
shell "ping www.yahoo.com > c:\ping.txt"
it will not create the ping.txt

Shell isn't the DOS O/S, so it doesn't recognize the Porting Command, what you could do is write a BAT file and Call that with the Shell Command.
