screen capture in java

I have to capture the screen from an application I know that there is a class in java.awt .robot in jdk1.3 beta but this method is giving errors. I am trying out in the windows platform using VC getDesktopWindow. till now I ddidn't get a solution if somebody can throw some light on this subject i will be greatful to them.
