compile-yes, run-NO!??

A few weeks ago my teacher set up the CLASSPATH for my NT laptop. All was good. Last night I go to compile and all is good still. But I get errors when I run. This is it>>> Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\JavaRuntimeEnvironment\current version' has value 1.1.6, but 1.3 is req'd. no java.dll or J2RE. What did I do? What can I do? CLASSPATH is c:\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar;. HELP!!!

you can download the newest JRE from: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html
this should fix you problem.. I had the same problem myself when i had to test my applets in web browsers.
