Our client, a leading communications firm, is seeking an Applications Development Engineer in their New Castle Delaware location.
This position is responsible for assisting the Network Engineering and Field Operations Departments in the design and documentation of Headend / Network tools in the Philadelphia Metro Region.
Daily tasks will include the creation, and or maintenance of existing and new Network Management Tool’s.
This individual will be part of a software development engineering team responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, integrating, testing, implementing, and documenting new and existing application software programs.
Maintain a solid understanding of the latest technologies in application design and development, both web-based and executable.
Create and maintain design documentation on fiber interconnects and transport networks between Headend, hubs, and OTN’s.
Coordinate with various internal and external groups to maintain and update documentation on current and future services.
Maintain an existing library of Headend design documentation, and provide updates to all Engineering and technical staff as requested.
Work with other departments as necessary to maintain an in-depth, technical knowledge base of new technologies being deployed.
Maintain an environment of mutual respect that values the contributions of team members.
Ability to create databases, views, and stored procedures to meet the business need and integrate into web solution
WEB Design and Maintenance Responsibilities:
Provide daily maintenance tasks for web applications.
Create and maintain IIS website configuration and properties.
Work with Application Support Manager to design and develop new market applications according to stakeholder requirements. This includes new code development and interface design, using ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML and other web related languages.
Provide ongoing support for existing ASP, VB, JavaScript, HTML and .NET applications.
Engaged in capacity planning and requirements gathering for projects and applications that may require SQL Server data solution(s). Participate in planning and design once requirements are gathered in order to build appropriate database(s), backup and recovery, and contingency disaster recovery solutions to meet requirements.
Responsible for writing database processes and operational maintenance procedures along with standards and guidelines for SQL Server. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.

Additional Qualifications:
Needs to demonstrate a strong working knowledge in the following technical areas:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP, Excel, Visio 2002-2003, and software required.
Working knowledge of ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, XML, MS SQL 2000, VB, Access, Visual InterDev or any other web related technologies.
Engaged in capacity planning and requirements gathering for projects and applications that may require SQL Server data solution(s). Participate in planning and design once requirements are gathered in order to build appropriate database(s), backup and recovery, and contingency disaster recovery solutions to meet requirements.
