Hi,
I am relatively new to C#. I have a good background in C though. I really enjoy working in C# and planning to learn it even more to eventually get Microsoft certifications in C#. Could anyone give me an idea of a good project which could help me through the learning process?
Here's a little information on my background: I am a Computer Systems Engineer and have a little over 1 year work experience as a SW Engineer. I have worked in C, C# and currently working on LabVIEW applications(I hate it tough).
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
A fan of C#.

Hi,
I am relatively new to C#. ... Could anyone give me an idea of a good project which could help me through the learning process?
....A fan of C#.Maybe you want to have a look to my new article'how to create a dockable panel using C# Its written for people who have just read a beginners book of C# like 'MS Visual C# 2005 Step by step'. Teaching things like Localization of Controls, Ownerdrawn controls, TypeConverters... You have the link on top of the page as its just brandnew now. It will be a series of articles teaching different skills using the project of creating dockable panels as the redline for going from a to b. Approximatly one article each month is planned.
BTW reading posts here in the forum and helping people is also a very good training in C# abilities

Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.
I wanted to do a detailed Windows-form based project, and your article sure looks like a good start. I really appreciate it.
I am preparing for Microsoft Exam 70-316, Developing and Implementing Windows-based Applications with Microsoft Visual C#.NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. More ideas & suggestions to help me prepare thoroughly are greatly appreciated.

I'd make sure your concepts on data access, serialization, toolbox controls, etc. are good. I'd create projects involving good use of all of them and also check out http://www.codeclinic.com/70-316skills.htm for more ideas
