Hi folks,

I bought Ivor Hortons Beginning Visual C++ 2005 book. However, I have since realised that I'm going to be buying Visual Studio 2008.

Do I need to buy Ivor Hortons Beginning Visual C++ 2008 book aswell, or are they very alike?

Thanks.

Never heard of it, but I can tell you that new features were added in each version, so the old book won't know about the newer additions. It may explain the current ones.

I just finished a great book for Visual Basic 2008 - Programmer's Reference, by Rod Stephens . I first skimmed thru it, thinking that I knew most of the things that I saw. Then I read it again, and found that there were many new things that I wouldn't have ever thought to use, which were very cool.

In other words, I'm glad I got the latest version, to match the latest compiler
