Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Senior Software Developer to join a team responsible for design, development and support of Fixed Income Trading Systems. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while actively participating in a dynamic, global team.
The API Development Team designs and develops applications used to support trading of various financial instruments in a high performance real-time environment. (US Government, Corporate and Foreign Sovereignty Bonds, Agency Issued and Mortgage Backed Securities and more.)
The API Development Team is also responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing clients trading APIs as well as assisting our customers with development of interfaces into clients trading systems.
The Senior Developer is expected to follow standard development processes and best practices including formal design, peer code reviews, extensive design and code documentation, static code analyses etc.
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, impeccable communications skills, and will feel comfortable speaking with and educating our customers developers on the use of our APIs and trading systems. Occasional visits to customer locations may be necessary.
Responsibilities:
Designs and develops high performance software interfacing with multiple trading systems in multiple locations
Responsible for full life cycle of applications from inception to production support
Maintains, enhances, and supports existing trading APIs
Provides assessments and estimates to business partners and technology management
Assists in collecting business requirements and writing functional specifications
Understands Fixed Income Trading and business motivation for various application features
Supports customers with development of applications interfacing with the clients trading systems
Skills/Experience:
7-10 years of C++ experience
Very strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux programming with C++
Very strong knowledge of Windows programming with VC++/MFC/C#
Strong knowledge of Java
Strong knowledge of the FIX and/or FAST protocols
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience designing and implementing multi-threaded, real-time, applications
Network programming experience
Experience with Databases such as SQL Server and Oracle a plus
Experience programming with Excel or VB a plus
Experience with UNIX shell/Perl/Awk/Make a plus
Bachelor degree in computer science or similar
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and be a team player in a dynamic environment
Ability to handle stress
