Autorun application

I am looking into developing a simple CDROM autorun exe that would check for versions in the registry and determine if software needs to be installed; config'd via an ini file.

Can anyone point me to some samples for MSVC6 that demonstrate registry access, reading an ini, and shellwait an installshield installer?
