Hi All
I have been asked by my company to create a small program that runs as a service, this program will look up the event viewer, search all logs that are being logged for specific types and export the information for all found instances of that type to a SQL database. This will be done once a day. From there a report will be generated and emailed to certain people so they can look at and take action if necessary. This program will need to run on both Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers.
I have never creted a service before so a little help is needed here, also never tried to gain access to the event viewer so a little help on this part would be appreciated aswell.
Regards
