PCM files ouput

[c++novice]

I have to play a PCM file for a decoder ouput through a sound blaster card using a GUI.The rest of the program is done using C but for this module i believe C++ is much more suitable with which im not very familiar.I would appreciate any help regarding code for buffer control or in general how to go about this task.Thanx.
