Interfacing

I guess this isnt specifically MFC, but it has a bit to do with it. I would like to make a card of something that would let me play wav files on a set of speakers, as dumb as this sounds i want to it to be ANOTHER set of speakers than what windows uses. Could this be done with an additional sound card, if so how owuld you play on this sounds card and not windows defualt
