Is COM on the Mac ??

Hi
I'd like to know how complete the implementation of COM is on the Mac. I need to devise a way of concurrently sharing files between multiple Mac and PC clients .. so I thought to use OLE doc-files (IStorage, IStream etc..) - but need to know if all that good stuff is fully supported over there in Mac land...
Does anyone know?
Where can I find out more ?
