ActiveX properties in linked cells

I have an ActiveX control designed to work primarily in an Excel spreadsheet. I have properties which may either be entered as literals (numeric) or as cell references. If a cell reference is entered and the control's container is an Excel spreadsheet, I can get the property value from the cell ok.

My problem is when the user changes the cell value in Excel I have no way of refreshing my control as I can't trap the fact that the referenced cell has changed.

Anyone have any clues ?
