Edit Control

I had asked this earlier but with lesser details. Let me make this a bit more elaborate. I have a c++ progam that reads a text file and writes into database (Notes). My problem is Ineed to convert that into a vc++ one. I need a edit control where I will post the status of my program like " reading the text file now", " writing into database oover" something like this. Now I need to know how to start about. Iam new to vc++. Please can somebody help me out.
