HDD/FDD unchanging ID

How can I get HDD/FDD's serial number or whatever it's called (I mean some ID that never changes, not the label).
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

i found this yestarday and it look good. I didn't test it yet, but it gets all the info from IDE channel (for example from PRIMARY-MASTER) like: Manufacturer of HDD, Firmware version, Serial number.
