Converting Color BMP to Mono BMP

Hi ALL!!
I want to convert a color bmp (any kinds of bmp color) to mono bmp (black & white).
The color bmp is created by capturing a screen, it's a handle of bitmap (HBITMAP)
PLEASE,,,, I'm almost exhausted to find information....
if you know,,, even a little bit... please let me know

If you have MSDN CD, check the sample Bit2Mono.exe.
It deals with the problem.
