I think i know what my problem is although i do not know how to fix it. I am on NT and i get a permissions problem when i try to get the User ID. the wierd thing is that it sometimes works?? thanks in advance.

Try WNetGetUser().

For some reason i am unable to find this in the help menus? what is passed and what is returned?? i have VC++ 5.0 thanks in advance
