Can we manually change the value of resource symbol

Can we change the value of resource symbol that is assigned to a control? Does resourse symbol has to do anything with tab order? I need to change it make certain controls contiguous. I will very much appriciate if somebody can give any useful information about resourse symbol, like what is it for? etc

You can change the value of resource symbol, but it does nothing with tab order.
If you want to change tab order, you can use "Layout->Tab Order" in the main menu.
