Low level (freshman / sophmore) C++ tutoriing rates?

Howdy all!

So, has anyone here ever done any / taken any C++ / programming tutoring? I'm considering going back to my old school and doing a bit of tutoring for some of the low level C++ courses, but I can't settle on a good hourly rate.

Anyone know a good average? I was thinking somewhere in the 15ish range...

So... I hate bumping... but.. eh it's been 12 days I'm feeling okay with myself on this one. :P I haven't even fallen off the front page yet.. this is more a "look at me, look at me!" than anything...

I think I was paid the equivalent of about 15 USD per hour as a tutor for an introductory programming module at my university, so that could indeed be a good rate to ask for... if they don't just tell you what their standard rate is.

That is very country dependent I would say. In Sweden I would consider $15 being a quite low rate (about the same as for a supermarket cashier). Teachers aren't well paid here but I would guess that for a short-term contract the upper range of $20-$25 would be more appropriate.

I guess I should throw out there this is USD. :P

I think $15ish is probably high enough to be a reasonable income, but low enough to keep a reasonable crowd. I don't want to set it to low though and then later feel like I should raise it and piss off a lot of students though.
